I was looking for a way to display a window on my site that you see on a ot of other web sites these days. You know the ones that disply photo's in a new window when you click on the link, similar to Lightbox. I have been a long time user of Likno's AllWebMenus and stumbled across another program they have called Web Modal Window Builder. I thought, awesome this is exactly what I'm looking for! The price was very affordable but I was leary since I have very limited knowledge of HTML or CSS. After reading up on the program I discovered that I might have a chance at using and maybe even understanding how to use it. I took the plunge and purchased the software. After 15 minutes I was able to create a simple modal window. I didn't really know what I was doing I just used one of the examples that comes with the program, made a few tweeks here and there and whola, my first Modal Window. I was amazed that I was able to create a very nice looking window and how easy and user intuitive the program was. Now that I have a little better understanding of how everything worked I went ahead and created another window, this time I tried a few more of the options available. I created a multi-page window that displayed simple text, external web page, and a photograph. I changed some of the properties so the window would open and close with affects, and a page fade-in and fade-out. It was really simple. You can even do slide shows!
Once you have finished creating your window project all you need to do is complie it and link it to the appropriate web pages.
I would recommend this software to anyone wanting to create modal windows whether they are beginners (like me) or experts. After exploring the whole program I see that there are many more functions and that one can create any kind of modal window thier creative juices can imagine. It's easy, intuitive but yet it seems to have all of the functions even the experts will enjoy. It does everthing you would want to create a modal window.
I highly recommend this program to beginners and experts!

THE DRAGONBONE CHAIR Copyright: 10/25/1988 Publisher: DAW (Penguin Group USA) ISBN-10: 0809900033
<--- Click on image to see book cover
"THE DRAGONBONE CHAIR is the story of Simon, a young kitchen boy and magician's apprentice, whose dreams of great deeds and heroic wars come all too shockingly true when his world is torn apart by a terrifying civil war -- a war fueled by ancient hatreds, immortal enemies, and the dark powers of sorcery.
In Osten Ard, a land once ruled by an elvishlike race known as the Sithi, the human High King is dying. And with his death, a long-dormant evil is unleashed on the land as the undead Sithi ruler, the Storm King, seeks to regain his lost realm through a pact with one of human royal blood. Driven by spell-inspired jealousy and fear, prince fights prince, while around them the very land begins to die, poisoned by a sorcerous force sworn to annihilate the humans whose ancestors had driven the Sithi from their rightful home long ages ago.
Only a small, scattered group, the League of the Scroll, recognizes the true danger faced by Osten Ard, only they hold the knowledge of times past, of threats fulfilled, and of a riddle of swords, which holds out the one small hope of salvation. And to Simon -- unknowingly apprenticed to a member of this League, and unwittingly touched by magic both good and ill -- will go the task of spearheading the search for the solution to this riddle of long-lost swords of power, a quest that will see him fleeing and facing enemies straight out of a legend-maker's worst nightmare! "The above paragraph is the official description of the story from Tad Williams Website. I'm not here to give an analytical review of the book although I could go into the deep meanings of the story. I won't bore you with all of that. I did find this book one of the most enjoyable stories I have read. From the beginning to the end it was a very entertaining and imaginative fantasy novel. Tad Williams makes you feel like that little boy in the story going from a kitchen boy to a hero. I read this book almost 20 years ago and I still remember the story. It had that much of an impact on me. If you ever wanted to read a fantasy, I suggest you start with this one. I give it a 2:00 AM on the Stephenson rating. |

The Sharks got off to a good start again against the Red Wings. It seemed like a evenly matched game for the first and second periods. The Sharks got the first goal in the second period from Couture! His first goal ever with an assist from Thorton and Callahan. Then the thisrd period rolls around and the Sharks started choking again. Lots of turn overs, lousy decisions and passing. As a result the Red Wings scored a goal. The goal should not have been allowed because Nabby had it covered but the the stupid ref didn't blow his whistle. After reviewing the replay it was clear he intended to. The only thing I don't like about Hockey is the officiating, it is so sporatic and most of the time it just plain sucks.
Anyway the Sharks held on and didn't allow the Red Wings to score again in the third which forced the overtime. The good news is that the Sharks got a point. The overtime period was all Red Wings, the Sharks were luckey to keep them from scoring.
Unfortunately, the Sharks failed to score any shots in the shoot out and the Red Wings won the day. They just played a better game. Mix that with the fact that the Sharks don't skate and don't seem to have the drive to win, it seemed reminisent of last years play offs. |

DID THOMAS JEFFERSON HAVE A CRYSTAL BALL?

It has been said the greatest volume of sheer brainpower in one place occurred when Jefferson dined alone... HOW DID JEFFERSON KNOW??????
When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe . Thomas Jefferson The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. Thomas Jefferson It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world. Thomas Jefferson I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. Thomas Jefferson

You know what I hate!
I really don't like those commercials you see on TV while you are watching a movie! You know the ones that show up at the bottom third of the screen during a program your watching. And it really pisses me off when the movie your watching has sub titles!
Oh my god what fricking morons! And then you have the commercials at the bottom or side that have sound! Imagine trying to listen to your program and all of a sudden your hear a crash or some other obnoxious sound that interferes with what they are saying in the program you are watching. If you are hard of hearing this can really piss you off.
I find myself changing channels when I discover the TV station uses this very frustrating practice |
